Get the guideGestalt helps clients go beyond talking about their patterns to actually experiencing them, right here, in the room. When a client stays with what they feel in the present, in their body, their emotions and the relationship with you, the work reaches the root of the pattern instead of circling around it. That’s what creates change that’s organic and lasting, because it comes from the client’s own experience, not from advice or insight alone.
“What’s happening for you right now?”
The client stops justifying the feeling and starts describing it, right here.
“Where do you feel that in your body?”
We notice where it lives, the tight chest or the held breath, and point it out. The goal is awareness, and sitting with it.
“What is this part protecting you from?”
Defenses become information to honor and explore, not walls to push through.
“What would you say to them, right now?”
We don’t go back to the past. We bring the past into the present, where unfinished business can finally be resolved.
“Would you be willing to try something?”
There’s no script to follow. Each intervention is created in the moment, for the client in front of you. The empty chair and guided fantasy are just two of many ways in.
“What’s different for you now?”
Change that comes from the client’s own experience, not from advice, is the kind that lasts.
