Whatever brings you here, we’ll find what’s underneath it.

People usually reach out because of something specific: anxiety that won’t settle, a loss, a pattern that keeps repeating. That’s where we begin. As we work together, we connect with what’s underneath it, at your pace and in a safe space, so the change goes deeper than the symptom.

Anxiety

Anxiety is connected to our most basic needs for safety and protection, and it’s a sign that something has lost its balance.

It shows up in many ways: a mind that won’t stop racing, tightness or pain in your chest, nights lying awake, irritability over small things, a constant sense that something is about to go wrong. You may have tried to reason with it, push through it or distract yourself from it, and still it keeps coming back.

In our sessions, we don’t just work on calming the symptoms. We get curious about where the anxiety comes from. We slow down, notice where it lives in your body, and get to know the part of you that’s always on guard. We don’t judge that part. We give it space, so we can explore what’s underneath it: what it’s afraid of, when it learned to stay alert, and what it needs from you now. That’s how we begin to restore balance.

When that part feels heard and understood, it no longer has to work so hard, and you can finally begin to rest.

02

Depression

Depression is often a sign that something important has been pushed down for too long: feelings, needs, parts of you that didn’t feel safe to show.

It can look like waking up tired no matter how much you sleep, losing interest in things you used to love, feeling numb or empty, pulling away from people, or simply going through the motions. Everything can feel far away, including you.

In our sessions, we don’t push for positivity. We start with connection. We make room for what’s there, without judgment, and gently explore what got buried along the way and what it needs now. We move at a pace your energy can hold.

Little by little, you start to reconnect with yourself and with what still matters to you.

03

Grief and Loss

Loss doesn’t only take a person. It changes who you are in relation to them. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting; it means carrying what matters forward.

Grief can feel like waves that come out of nowhere, a heaviness that won’t lift, guilt over what you did or didn’t do, anger, numbness, or the sense that everyone else has moved on while you’re still there. There’s no correct timeline, and there’s no right way to grieve.

In our sessions, we make space for all of it, without judgment. Often the work is about what is still unresolved: words that were never said, a goodbye that didn’t happen, feelings you haven’t had room to feel. Gestalt gives us ways to explore that in the present, gently and at your pace, sometimes by speaking directly to the person you lost.

Grief isn’t only about the person you lost. It’s also about the part of you that left with them: who you were in that relationship, the future you imagined together, the role you no longer have. We make room to grieve that part of you too, and help you welcome a new version of yourself.

Over time, the pain softens, and you find a way to carry them with you rather than the weight of what was left unfinished.

04

Life Transitions

Change is part of life, but some transitions shake the ground beneath you, even the ones you chose.

It might be a move, a divorce or breakup, a new job or the loss of one, becoming a parent, an empty nest, a health change, or a new stage of life, planned or unplanned. Or maybe you’re in the middle of deciding whether to move forward, with mixed feelings about the same situation: frustrated in your current job but scared to look for another one, or wanting to end a relationship but staying because it feels like the safest thing right now. Doubts like these can keep you frozen, unsure which way to go.

In our sessions, we make room for all of it, without judgment. We explore what you’re leaving behind, what you’re afraid of, and what this change is asking of you. Often a transition also means letting go of a version of yourself, and that deserves space too.

Together, we find a way through, so you can move forward with more clarity and trust in yourself, and welcome who you’re becoming.

05

Burnout

Burnout is what happens when you keep giving from an empty place for too long. It’s especially common for people whose work, or whose role at home, is caring for others. And rest alone isn’t always the answer.

It can look like exhaustion that a weekend doesn’t fix, dreading things you used to care about, feeling detached or cynical, getting sick more often, or snapping at the people you love. You might feel like you’re running on autopilot, doing everything for everyone except yourself.

In our sessions, we look at what keeps you there: the part of you that can’t say no, the standards you hold yourself to, the feelings there’s been no time to feel. We don’t judge those parts. Often they’ve been working hard to keep everything together. Together, we make room for your own needs, the ones that have been waiting their turn.

If you’re a clinician carrying this, Therapy for Therapists speaks to it directly.

06

Boundaries and People-Pleasing

Always the one who says yes, even when you want to say no. Together, we connect with the part of you that struggles to say no, and lift the weight it has carried for years.

It can look like agreeing to things you don’t want to do, apologizing for having needs, feeling responsible for everyone’s feelings, avoiding conflict at any cost, or feeling resentful and exhausted, and then guilty for feeling that way.

Saying yes when your body is begging for a no usually started somewhere, often early. Somewhere along the way, you may have learned that your needs come second, or that keeping others happy was the safest way to stay connected. In our sessions, we get curious about that part of you without judgment: what it learned, what it fears would happen if you said no, and what it needs from you now.

Little by little, saying no becomes possible without guilt taking over, and your yes becomes more genuine.

07

Perfectionism and Imposter Syndrome

Never quite enough, no matter how much you achieve. We get to know the part of you that keeps raising the bar, and what it fears would happen if it stopped.

It can look like reworking things until they’re perfect, struggling to celebrate your wins, procrastinating because it has to be just right, feeling like a fraud even when others see your success, or feeling that no matter what you do, it’s never enough.

In our sessions, we don’t try to silence that voice. We listen to it, without judgment, and get curious about where it came from and what it’s been protecting you from. Often it learned early that being good enough was the way to be accepted or safe.

Over time, that part of you can start to trust that you’re enough as you are, and you can begin to feel proud of who you are, not only of what you do.

Clinicians recognize this one often. Therapy for Therapists goes further into it.

08

Childhood Wounds

For patterns that started early in life. We can’t change the past, but the healing happens here, in the present.

Childhood wounds don’t always look like wounds. They can show up as reacting more strongly than a situation calls for, feeling small or unseen in certain relationships, a harsh inner critic, a fear of being abandoned, or patterns you recognize from your family and swore you’d never repeat.

People come for many different reasons, and the work sometimes leads back to what was learned early in life. When it does, we use inner child work to connect with the younger part of you that learned to survive, without judgment, and get to know what that younger version of you still needs today.

Together, we give that part what it didn’t receive back then: safety, comfort, being seen. As it heals, the patterns it created begin to loosen, and you can respond from who you are now.

When it’s the right tool

Clinical Hypnotherapy

An optional, structured procedure that uses deep relaxation to support the work we do together.

Clinical hypnotherapy shares a lot with Gestalt, especially the depth of the work. Gestalt guided fantasies follow a similar process, while clinical hypnotherapy uses a more structured protocol and a deeper state of relaxation.

It’s offered in 90-minute sessions, for clients who want to go deeper, and only when it fits what we’re working on. I’m a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, and like all of my therapy services, it’s available to clients located in Florida.
