About Therapy

Are you tired of JUST surviving?

Have you broken through the doubt and realize you want to reach your full potential?

I know you have been struggling with your emotions for a long time. These emotions are taking over your life, and you feel “stuck” and like you can’t move forward.

You and your partner can’t connect, always bicker and can’t understand each other. Some people understand and want to be there for you, but it’s hard to open up to them.

This is the right place for you to unload all the baggage you have been carrying for a while. You can live your full potential by controlling these emotions; understanding and accepting your feelings; and being authentic.

No more pretending like everything is ok; what you’re going through is REAL. I’m here for you, and we can do this together.

All these overwhelming feelings have an explanation…

Your doubts represent your fear of the possibility that something won’t work out. Your motivation to improve your patterns is already a win! It only takes a willingness to make that first call. You have tried holding everything together, act like everything is ok and have put your needs at the end, but you know that the more you avoid it, the worse it can get.

Working together on the same goal: YOUR FULL POTENTIAL…

Therapy can help you address your stress, fear, anxiety, depression, and lack of connection with your partner. I use several techniques to help you process your emotions in a healthy way and find underlying issues you might not be aware of.

Through Gestalt Therapy, you can expect to identify your real needs and what you need to do to satisfy them. You can finally take control of your emotions, as you will be able to understand them and learn to navigate them.

I can help you understand certain aspects of yourself and realize how you might have developed certain unhealthy patterns that worsen your current issues. I will help you engage in interventions that can improve your communication skills and connection with your partner, help understand each other, and be closer than you ever imagined.

My goal is to help you be authentic with yourself and your emotions by finding ways to satisfy your needs effectively.

I will help you tackle everything in your way from reaching your best life.

While in our sessions…

… you’ll be working closely with me to understand the core of your emotions as well as how you can take steps to improve your current situation.

When we meet, we’ll first review what we did in our previous session, revise any therapeutic assignment (if applicable), identify struggles in-between sessions, as well as a progression in the completion of your goals.

You can expect a frequent review of your progress as you are in control of your treatment. You will be the driver, and I’ll be the GPS guiding your journey.

Here’s what you can expect from me…

You’ll get acceptance, unconditional support, and a safe environment where I’ll hold your hand while you process all your sacred fears and secrets with me and, most importantly, discover why things are not working out the way you want.

You’ll be fully listened to, understood, and relieved to finally let go of all the things you have been holding on to – all the roadblocks in your life.

You’ll be a part of an active collaborative work where you and I will focus on achieving your goals. You will choose these goals, as you will have control over what you want to work on while in therapy. I will offer guidance as well as support to show you the way out of your distress.

About Me

A little about how I got into this work…

I have been passionate about psychology since I was 13 years old. I’ve always enjoyed listening to others and helping them understand the nature of their struggles. I remember being around friends and being the “go-to person” for advice and guidance. I enjoyed listening, helping, and analyzing different ways to address situations. At that time, I discovered what my career was going to be.

I couldn’t describe the satisfaction of hearing how my support had an impact on people’s choices to address problems. I remember being in the early years of high school and looking forward to the later years of taking the psychology class. It was a well-expected confirmation of what I would want to do for a living.

Being a therapist has always been and will always be my only career choice. I believe my personality has shaped me into a person whose empathy, compassion, sensitivity, and desire to help, combined with my listening and clinical skills, make an extremely dedicated therapist.

I am a person… just like everyone else.

So, sometimes I also struggle with everyday life situations. At times, I need to stop and reflect on my distress to facilitate growth and overall health.

Wearing different hats in life can certainly feel overwhelming at times. When I feel like “I’m not myself,” I make sure I stop and listen to my body and the signs I’m being sent to then engage in whatever I need at the moment.

We all need a break, don’t we?

I understand the importance of self-care…

… and that’s why I have my own therapist to stay true to my feelings and make sure I keep an objective perspective in work with my clients.

In my therapy, I feel free to unload my emotional distress when necessary, and it provides me with relief and the chance to stay authentic.

Education and professional experience…

I attained my license in Clinical Psychology at San Martin De Porres University in Lima, Peru. After providing individual therapy, I moved to the United States and continued my career by enrolling in the master’s program for mental health counseling at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. During this time, I was already working in the field as a program counselor, where I facilitated psychosocial rehabilitation group sessions while completing my master’s degree. Once I graduated, I was able to provide therapy to multiple populations.

My evident passion for counseling encouraged me to continue pursuing additional credentials to provide the best care possible. I decided to become a National Certified Counselor (NCC) as well as a Master’s Level Addiction Professional (MCAP). In my 14 years of experience, I have enjoyed using multiple interventions, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy; however, my preference and expertise is in Gestalt Therapy as it focuses on self-awareness, authenticity, and staying in touch with our emotions.

When I’m not with clients…

You can find me spending time with my husband and two kids, watching medical-based TV shows, playing chess, pool, or staying connected with family and friends.

It’s time to live the fulfilling life you’ve always imagined.

After a few sessions with me, you can expect to feel more confident about your emotions and choices. Finally, you’ll be in a position to remain honest with yourself and let go of shame, high demands, and unnecessary expectations.

Your doubts, fears, and concerns can disappear if you choose to let them go. There is a new journey waiting for you to take control and finally reach the full potential you deserve. You’ve got this.
